在一篇名叫《Streaming On》的文章里,有这样的一段话:Those many picnics by the stream, all motivation for my dreams. ——Forever your son, Sebastian
作者在很小的时候,因为单亲妈妈没有抚养他的能力,而将他遗弃了。而当他成为一名作家时,他将这样的一段话,送给了曾经遗弃他的母亲。

在Marguerite Duras 的《La pluie d'ete》中,欧内斯托曾说过,如果在起点就缺这个东西的话,到了终点时怎能知道还缺它呢?
而书的末页,Duras也写到:由于这个看上去平静的选择——一种可以说他漠然处之的追求——生活似乎终于是他可以容忍的了。

Pablo Neruda 的诗里曾写到,I like for you to be still: it is as though you were absent, distant and full of sorrow as though you had died. One word then, one smile , is enough. And I am happy, happy that it's not true.

I suggested ,in some strange sense we are more whole when we are missing something. The man who has everything is in some ways a poor man. He will never know what if feels like to yearn, to hope ,to nourish his soul with the dream of somthing better. He will never know the experience of having someone who loves him give him something he has always wanted or never had.
